Mommy & Me Mondays: Stick Puppets

Something fun for Mommy & Me today. You can make a stick puppet show together! By flipping the puppets you can show Sir Bumble and the dragon feeling either brave or scared. Just color each side of the characters then fold them along the dotted line. Place a stick in the center and glue the sides together to make a stick sandwich. For the sparrow, you could also glue a piece of thread in the center and tie the other end to the stick (I used shish kabab skewers that I had on hand). Mommy gets to color the backdrop. And stay tuned! Next week we’ll show you how to make a fun theater for putting on your show.

While you color, talk about the things you’re scared of. And then read these verses from Psalm 46:

God is our refuge and strength,
    a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes,
    though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas;
    though its waters roar and are troubled,
    though the mountains tremble with their swelling.

 Be still, and know that I am God.
    I will be exalted among the nations.
    I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46: 1-3, 10

Then together declare that “God is bigger than [say the things you are afraid of] and HE is here with me!!”
